Why do my images have a box around them? TOP
When you save your images in a photo editing program, save them with a .png extension. This is a format that leaves the background transparent.
For example: myphoto.png
I can't remember my storeadmin, help! TOP
I can't remember my storeadmin. Where do I find that?
To have the storeadmin password sent to you or to reset it, go go the storeadmin where you log in and click on "Forgot your info" and put in the email address in your Site Settings area that you use for your contact page.
How can I re-size my photos to fit into my website? TOP
My first suggestion is a program called Photoshop Elements. This is basically a "little sister" version of Photoshop, and much cheaper. If you are willing to read the basic tutorials to Photoshop Elements, you will discover a myriad of great tips and techniques, such as applying fancy fonts or frames to your photos, just to name a couple.
For those on a budget, Pappa Shop recommends a company that offers free photo editing software
"PhotoPlus6"- It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of PaintShopPro
or Adobe Photoshop but it has everything you need to edit your photos for your
website and/or auction listings at a great price! Worth trying out.
There are quite a few other free options out there as well. Flickr, PhotoBucket and Picnik, to name a few. They all offer tutorials on resizing/editing photos.
The simplest option, if you simply want to re-size photos, is Pixel Resizer. It is free to download. I can personally vouch for it because I have used it. A word of advice first: For
your product photos, you will need one larger image (400 to 600 pixels)
and for the thumbnail you will need a smaller version of that image (150
to 200 pixels.) You will need to make those photos on your own before
uploading them to your site.
Here is the download link for the free Pixel Resizer program, if you do not have a photo editing software.
Who controls my domain name? TOP
Who controls my domain name if I host with Pappa Shop?
You are always in control of your domain name. You will be responsible for renewing it, transferring it, or making sure it is pointed to PappaShop's server when you host with them. Smacking Darcy has no control over your domain name. You purchase it, it's yours to take care of.
Please note: Transferring your domain name to the Pappa Shop server is not the same as pointing the DNS numbers. There is a big difference.
Where can I find some credit card images to put on my site? TOP
Here you go! Right click and save an image to your hard drive; then upload it to your website through your storeadmin.

Why should I use a mail list provider? TOP
Well, to keep things simple and to send email campaigns legal. To find out more visit the CAN-SPAM section on the FCC's website.
